- Those people who refer to any app or normal TV programs usually get the time according to Delhi. Local apps might have developed it in accordance with local times but the widely used Astro Sage gives the time in accordance with sunrise at Delhi.
- In case of India, the time difference between the western most part of India and the easternmost point is approximately two hours, the effect of which is that the sun rises and sets much earlier at Dong, which is in a valley in Arunachal Pradesh than it does in the rest of the country.
It is not the easternmost place but it is one of the eastern-most places which experiences the first sunrise in India due to its height. The first village on the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh is Kaho, which lies just north of Kibithu on the banks of Lohit River. Its coordinates are 28°16′49″N 97°01′04″E.
- Guhar Moti in Gujarat,the western-most point of India experiences it last. Guhar Moti is the western-most inhabited village in India, in Kutch district in Gujarat. It is located near the disputed Sir Creek and the Koteshwar temple, at 23.713°N 68.032°E. The village comes under the administration of the Narayan Sarovar panchayat.
- Mirzapur is situated at longitude 82.5690 E & latitude 25.1460 N. This is the coordinate decided for IST. Indian Standard Time is calculated on the basis of 82.5° E longitude, from a clock tower in Mirzapur.
राहुकाल स्थानीय सूर्योदय एवं सूर्यास्त के समय के ऊपर ही निर्भर करता है। भारत का विस्तार इतना है कि अरुणाचल प्रदेश में जब सूर्य उगता है तो उसके लगभग दो घण्टों बाद गुजरात के अंतिम छोर पर उगता है। ऐसे में सिर्फ एक ही राहुकाल से पूरे देश का कम कैसे चलेगा। सामान्य रूप से लोग ऐस्ट्रो सेज से राहुकाल का निर्णय करते हैं। वह दिल्ली के अनुसार होता है। ऐसे में सही समय जानने के लिये काशीजी के लोगों को दिल्ली के राहुकाल के समय में से 24 मिनट घटाना होगा क्योंकि यहाँ पर सूरज 24 मिनट पहले ही उग जाता है। नीचे दी गयी तालिका में कुछ शहरों का ऐसा ही अंतर दिया हुआ है।
